We had an even day yesterday, going 2-2 on our WNBA best bets to keep us in the green at 32-29 on the season. It wasn’t the big day we were hoping for, but I feel great about the offerings for our two matchups today to get back to our winning ways. Let’s get some momentum rolling, diving into some of the best WNBA bets and player props on the board today. The WNBA slate gets rolling a bit later tonight, with our first game coming at 8 p.m. ET as the Dallas Wings host the Las Vegas Aces. Have an extra cup of coffee because there is then a rivalry game you’re not going to want to miss at 10 p.m. between the Minnesota Lynx and the Los Angeles Sparks. WNBA Best Bets & Player Props Today: June 5
Las Vegas Aces-Dallas Wings Bet
Last time I touched on the Aces, I recommended their spread against the Atlanta Dream, counting on Las Vegas to continue its streak of two straight covers. Unfortunately for us, it didn’t work out that way, with the Dream handing the Aces their second upset loss of the young season in that game.
It’s been almost a week since then, and the Aces have had plenty of time to watch game tape of both of their losses … and stew on them. They know they should’ve won both of these games, both against negative net rating teams that are in the bottom half of the league. I like the Aces to come out against the Wings with the same fire they showed against the Fever and the Lynx after their loss to the Mercury. Hopefully they’ll be able to sustain that fire a little longer than two games this time before they need another loss to scare them straight.
In of the matchup, this will be another game where Dallas will really miss its frontcourt star tandem of Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard against A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young. Arike Ogunbowale has also particularly struggled to score against Las Vegas during the Becky Hammon era, scoring 14 points or fewer in six of her 12 meetings with the Aces since 2021. With the matchup issues and the bounce-back spot, I like a comfortable cover for the Aces here.
Best WNBA Bet for Aces-Wings: Las Vegas Aces -7.5
Teaira McCowan is one Wings player who has excelled in this matchup over the same period, however. Despite having to contend with Wilson, McCowan has recorded a double-double in practically every matchup in which she’s gotten full run against the Aces since 2021. I’m splitting a bet between McCowan’s point and rebound props:

Minnesota Lynx-Los Angeles Sparks Bet
There’s always a certain intensity when the Minnesota Lynx play the Los Angeles Sparks. The rivalry between the two franchises stretches to the back-to-back Finals the Maya Moore Lynx and Candace Parker Sparks split in 2016 and 2017. While none of the players remain, an air lingers around both teams and fanbases when they face each other.
Often a narrative aspect like this would throw me off a scent for a spread. But the gulf between the Lynx and the Sparks this season is enormous. The Lynx have the Sparks beat in of net rating by a whole 16.5 points, with Minnesota at +10.5 and the Sparks at -6.0. The Lynx look like dark horse championship contenders; the Sparks are going to have to make a serious push to make the playoffs this season. Looking purely at betting numbers, the Lynx are 7-1 against the spread to the Sparks’ 2-6. The only team that has covered against the Lynx in eight games was the Aces.
I’m not going to let the looming specter of this rivalry scare me off a side in this game. The Lynx are better than the Sparks by a magnitude not reflected in this spread. If anything, the extra intensity from Cheryl Reeve, who’s far more invested in the history between these teams than Curt Miller, might push the Lynx to drop the hammer on the Sparks.
Best WNBA Bet for Lynx-Sparks: Minnesota Lynx -7.5
In of a player prop, I’m going back to the well on an angle that’s served me well: Kayla McBride’s 3-point shooting. I’ve written before how Reeve has emphasized 3-point shooting this season for the Lynx and how she has led by example on the floor, averaging 3.4 3’s on 6.9 attempts per game and making 49.1%. The books have McBride at 2.5 3’s in this game, a line she’s cleared in five of her seven games this season. The Sparks are towards the bottom of the league in defending the 3 as well, allowing the fourth-most made 3’s per game on the third-highest opponent 3-point percentage.
My player prop model puts this line at 3.5, and against defense like Los Angeles’, McBride’s over is the lean over there. I’m smacking the over at 2.5 and hitting an alt at four-plus 3’s as well.
