Build Profitable Sports Betting Portfolios: NEW Portfolio EV Lab
The original version of the Lab relied on limited snapshots of the betting board taken at fixed points in time (e.g. 12 hours, four hours, two hours before a game). That meant we were missing large chunks of betting activity — especially in fast-moving markets — and displaying incomplete results as a consequence. Important data was being left out, and it didn’t reflect the full range of bets s were actually seeing and placing.
The Improvement: A Complete Data Overhaul
Over the last several weeks, our team has been working behind the scenes to completely overhaul the way the Lab collects and displays data. Here’s what’s new:
Full Odds Change Tracking
Instead of limited snapshots, we’re now ingesting and processing every single odds movement across all tracked sportsbooks. That data is stored and used to reconstruct what was truly available on the board at any point in time.
Massive Increase in Sample Size
Thanks to this expanded data source, the Lab now includes orders of magnitude more data. In some bet types and sportsbooks, s are now seeing 60x more bets than they were before. For example:
- NBA Points Bets on Caesars over the last 30 days jumped from 12 tracked bets to over 600.
- Across all NBA markets in the last year, we’re now surfacing 1.8 million positive EV bets in the Lab.
More Accurate ROI and Profit Metrics
With larger, more complete samples, the ROI and win/loss metrics are now far more reflective of what actually happened — giving you confidence to make smarter decisions about which bets, books, or markets to focus on.
Cleaner, More Actionable Insights
We’ve also added new timeframes (e.g. 30, 90, 365 days) and restructured the experience to help you make decisions based on meaningful trend data, not just short-term swings.

Even better: this upgrade lays the groundwork for more improvements. For example, we’re now able to backfill Pick’em results for the first time — something we couldn’t do under the old snapshot-based system. And the same new data engine powering the Lab will also be used to help us continuously fine-tune the Portfolio EV model itself.
