One of the key reasons I like this over is pace. Both the Falcons and Raiders rank in the top 10 in seconds per play, which means we should see plenty of possessions on both sides. More possessions lead to more opportunities to score, and that could make all the difference with a total like 44.5.
Turnovers could also work in our favor. While there’s always some variance, both teams have been turnover-prone. The Raiders in particular have been near the bottom of the league in giveaways all season. Atlanta is capable of capitalizing on those mistakes, which could lead to quick points.
At 44.5 (-110 on DraftKings), this total offers multiple paths to hit the over and both teams have the offensive tools to make this happen. Atlanta’s defense is fine — not elite but not a complete liability — which should allow the Raiders to chip in 17 to 20 points. From there, the Falcons can take care of the rest.
