WNBA PrizePicks: 5-Picks Season Long Flex Play | Breanna Stewart and More

Updated May 14, 2024 | 8:20 am CDT by Dani Bar-lavi

In my previous article, I talked about how Caitlin Clark is the only player in the WNBA for whom sportsbooks are offering season-long props — but where the books have fallen short, daily fantasy services has filled the gap. Both PrizePicks and Underdog Fantasy are offering the chance to play season-long more/less on per-game stats in the WNBA this season. I scanned the offerings at both and found some pretty significant edges, and I’ve cooked up a smash Five-Pick Flex play at PrizePicks. I would recommend placing these both as a five-pick Flex Play and in smaller two-pick combinations in order to maximize profit. Let’s dig into these WNBA season-long PrizePicks like Breanna Stewart.

WNBA PrizePicks Today: Target These Superstar Players

React App

Breanna Stewart M/L Than 7.8 Rebounds

The reigning MVP is best known for her talents as an offensive superstar, but the well-roundedness of her game is what makes her one of the best players in the WNBA. Stewart is one of the WNBA’s best rebounders, coming off a season where she grabbed 9.3 boards per game, third in the WNBA and tied for the second-highest mark of her career. Stewart has actually only ever gone less this projection on the season once in her career, averaging 7.6 rebounds per game in 2022 coming off of surgery to repair her Achilles that season. She should absolutely destroy this number.

Best WNBA PrizePicks Play: Breanna Stewart More Than 7.8 Rebounds Per Game

Brittney Griner M/L Than 8.0 Rebounds

Despite her height, Griner has not historically been as dominant a rebounder in the WNBA as some might expect. This is no diss to Griner; she simply opts to box out on many possessions instead of going for the board because she’s a great teammate. Griner is coming off a season where she averaged just 6.3 rebounds per game, a number obviously deflated by Phoenix playing carefully with her minutes after she missed the 2022 season. Still, Griner has only averaged more eight rebounds per game twice in nine full seasons. It would take quite the bounce back to her 2021 season form (career-high 9.5 rebounds per game) for her to clear this projection, and I’m not buying it.

Best WNBA PrizePicks Play: Brittney Griner Less Than 8.0 Rebounds

Jackie Young M/L Than 16.0 Points

This projection opened at 15.5, which was a lot more egregious, but even with the movement, it’s still a great more play. Young had an amazing breakout season last year, averaging 17.6 points per game on 52.3% shooting and 44.9% from deep.

She has emerged as the second option on the best offense in professional basketball and was discussed as a fringe MVP candidate at the beginning of last season, which she opened by dropping 20 or more points in eight of her first 12 games.

With Chelsea Gray slated to miss the beginning of this season with injury, there’s going to be even more offensive responsibility on Young’s shoulders this year.

Editor’s Note: Young’s more/less points projection at Underdog entry. The 16.0 is still valuable as part of this five-pick PrizePicks Flex Play, however.

Napheesa Collier M/L Than 8.0 Rebounds

Collier averages 7.5 rebounds per game on her career, and in four full seasons she has put up more than eight rebounds per game twice (2020 and 2023) and less twice (2019 and 2021). An important contextual angle on this play, however, is that Collier has only ever averaged fewer than eight rebounds per game as a professional when playing with Sylvia Fowles, widely regarded as one of top centers in WNBA history. Fowles sat the 2020 season out and retired ahead of last season. In both of those seasons, and in this season, the Lynx were left without a true starting center, thrusting the role of primary rebounder on Collier. She should play that role this season again, sharing the frontcourt with power forward Alanna Smith, and as such should easily clear this projection.

Best WNBA PrizePicks Play: Napheesa Collier More Than 8.0 Rebounds

Alyssa Thomas M/L Than 8.0 Rebounds

Thomas was the WNBA’s top rebounder last season, averaging 9.9 rebounds per game as the Connecticut Sun’s de facto do-everything point center. While her rebounding numbers should be a bit less lofty with center Brionna Jones healthy, nearly two rebounds per game is a huge adjustment. Thomas has cleared eight rebounds per game in four of the last six seasons, including seasons she was part of a three-big rotation with the aforementioned Jones and former teammate Jonquel Jones. It’s hard to imagine Thomas not being a triple-double machine again this season, even with a healthy center next to her. She should clear nine rebounds per game again, let alone eight.

Best WNBA PrizePicks Play: Alyssa Thomas More Than 8.0 Rebounds
