The March Madness tournament rages on with the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 this weekend, and now sportsbooks have released odds for the remaining 16 teams to reach the Final Four. The latest March Madness odds show that No. 1 seeds Alabama and Houston are coming into the weekend as favorites to pull out the next two wins and reach the Final Four next weekend.

Alabama enters the Sweet 16 as a hot pick to win the whole tournament after a dominant season. They have arguably been the most impressive team throughout the March Madness tournament, winning by over 20 points in each of their first two games. It was guard Jahvon Quinerly who led the way with 22 points in the 73-51 win over the Maryland Terrapins in the second round, with freshman star Brandon Miller adding 19.
Head coach Nate Oats has had his hands full keeping his team focused on the NCAA Tournament with all the distractions that have arisen from a shooting incident prior to the season.
“We talk about we’ve got big picture items and we got to be concerned with that,” Oats said, per On3. “And then we have the details that matter when you get to practice, in the games, when I say matter, they matter to the game. Like you have to focus on what matters in practice. You have to focus on what matters in the game. And you are where your feet are.”
It has been a bit of a harder NCAA Tournament for the Houston Cougars. After star guard Marcus Sasser reaggravated his groin injury during the first round, the main storyline has been centered around his availability. Sasser answered the bell by playing through the injury and dropping 22 points in the 81-64 win over the Auburn Tigers in the second round. Houston was down 41-31 at halftime of that game before outscoring the Tigers by a whopping 27 points in the second half.
Sasser gave a positive injury update on Tuesday.
"I should be at least 90 [percent on Friday], so I should be really close to 100. My explosiveness, I'm getting it back. I've been doing a lot of stretches and weight stuff, just getting it strengthened back up," Sasser said, per Houston Chronicle.
Houston and Alabama came into the NCAA Tournament as the top two favorites to win the event.
