There are a few narratives here, including any revenge scenario with J.K. Dobbins rushing against his former team. We have the raw power of Derrick Henry to Jackson — each able to put one in on the ground. Dobbins and Henry appear to be the only two touchdown tickets on the market that are plus money. That opens another area of value for someone else.
At the risk of being pigeonholed as a tight end bettor, we have to go back to the position in tonight’s game. We just missed last night with Dallas Goedert but are making it back tonight with Will Dissly. The Chargers tight end grabbed his first score of the year last game, and the matchup and comfort level in the offense are the biggest reasons he has a good shot tonight.
Dissly comes off his most productive game of the year following 80 yards and a score. He’s seen six targets in two straight games and at least six in four of his last five. At the very least, Herbert and Dissly have a connection in this offense that Greg Roman’s play calling heightens. That’s something to keep an eye on as we get deeper into the season, and the Chargers are a top AFC team.
One thing that’s bumped his value on the touchdown market is Hunter Henry’s return. There’s a belief that as the Chargers get healthy in the ing game, Dissly’s involvement will wane. It’s hard to imagine he will simply disappear, especially on any two-tight end sets. Let the Chargers run all they want on Baltimore; it’s only going to make it easier throwing short middle of the field.
