Best PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Trevor Lawrence Lets Loose (Dec. 24)

Updated December 24, 2023 | 8:17 am CDT by Tim Speros

There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than with family, eggnog and PrizePicks! Week 16 of the NFL brings a nine-game Sunday slate highlighted by a 49.5 total for Cowboys-Dolphins in Miami. However, I’m looking at another game in Florida with some shootout potential. Selecting the right projections may be challenging, but with the assistance of OddsShopper’s NFL PrizePicks Optimizer and thorough research, we have you covered. Let’s dive into the best PrizePicks NFL picks and player projections for Sunday, starting with Trevor Lawrence.

If you’re looking to tease these picks up or down to make them more attainable or increase your payout, PrizePicks has introduced Demons and Goblins to create more options for your entry. You can read about the extra fun here.

PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Picks for Trevor Lawrence & More

Trevor Lawrence M/L 254.5 ing Yards

Trevor Lawrence is averaging 251.8 ing yards per game and has attempted the fourth-most es in the NFL with 492. He’s gone over this number in five straight games, as Jacksonville has been ing a lot. Over the last three weeks, the Jaguars lead the NFL with a 69.5% ing play percentage. Lawrence gets a favorable matchup today against the Buccaneers, who rank 31st in defense, allowing 263.9 ing yards per game.

This game opened with a total of 40 and has since bumped up to 43, accompanied by a 1-point spread. We are expected to have nice weather in Tampa Bay, and this one has shootout potential. It is a great matchup and game script for Lawrence.

Best PrizePicks NFL Player Prediction: Trevor Lawrence More Than 254.5 ing Yards

DJ Moore M/L 49.5 Receiving Yards (Goblin)

DJ Moore is averaging 14 yards per reception and ranks 13th with 80 receptions on the season. He’s recorded more than 50 yards in 11 of 13 games. He didn’t get there in Weeks 1, 3 and 6 (Justin Fields injury week). On Sunday he gets a favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who rank 27th in coverage and have the worst defense in the NFL. According to PFF, Moore has the second-best matchup advantage this week. Arizona allows the 12th most yards per game to wide receivers.

Taking a look at OddsShopper’s tools, Pinnacle has this juiced to the over at -136, while other books have this projection set at 67.5. Bears quarterback Justin Fields has attempted 37, 33 and 40 es in the past three weeks. The Bears are favored by 4 points in Chicago, and this game has a total of 43. I do like Moore to record more than 65.5 yards, but I’m taking a goblin on this one to increase my chances of profiting on a 3-man power play.

Best PrizePicks NFL Player Prediction: DJ Moore More Than 49.5 Receiving Yards (Goblin)

If you’re looking for some other pick’em action on Christmas, is legal in your state.

Chuba Hubbard M/L 17 Rushing Attempts

Chuba Hubbard has been a bright spot for the last-place Panthers this season. He came into camp as the backup to Miles Sanders and quickly took over as the lead back after Sanders got banged up. Carolina is averaging 26.9 rushing attempts per game, which ranks 16th, but over the last three games, it has run the ball 36.3 times, which leads the NFL in that span. Bryce Young has struggled, forcing the Panthers to lean on the run game.

The Panthers are 4-point home underdogs against the Packers. This game has a total of 37.5, so don’t expect to see lots of big plays through the air. The Packers allow 30.5 rushing attempts per game, which is the fourth most in the NFL, making this a great matchup for Hubbard to get more than 17 rushing attempts. Hubbard has recorded 19, 22, 23 and 25 rushing attempts in his last four games. Consistent volume and a good matchup means go!

Best PrizePicks NFL Player Prediction: Chuba Hubbard More Than 17 Rushing Attempts
