NRFI Bets Today: Best No Run First Inning Picks & Predictions
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals | NRFI Bets Today
This NRFI bet today seemed to be priced in a range where FanDuel just hung too much value for us to up at -118. And truthfully, there isn’t a ton of analysis needed here.
The Pirates and Cardinals both rank in the bottom 7 in baseball in of runs scored in the first inning this season. Both teams have struggled to plate early runs to the tune of NRFI percentages of 78.79% for the Pirates and 78.46% for the Cardinals.
The Cards send out their ace Sonny Gray, who is 9-2 on NRFIs this year. Gray ranks in the 94th percentile in strikeout percentage, and Pittsburgh is striking out at a nearly 25% clip (fifth most in baseball) against right-handed pitching this season. So it’s a matchup basically made in heaven for the Cardinals righty.
For the Pirates, Bailey Falter brings his 8-4 record on NRFI bets into tonight’s matchup. And despite his name being Bailey Faulter, he’s pitched to a 3.69 ERA and 1.04 WHIP this season.
What’s more is St. Louis is one of the worst-hitting teams in baseball against left-handed pitching. It ranks third worst in of wRC+, ahead of only the Marlins and White Sox — that’s not a class you want to be in.
So we’re getting -118 odds on two offenses that have shown struggles scoring early and two pitchers who have been strong at cashing their no run first inning opportunities.
