Reynaldo Lopez M/L Than 5.5 Strikeouts
The Braves have to be feeling the heat with the Mets just five games back in the NL East. Of course, both teams are doing their best to not let the Phillies run away with it, as Atlanta’s lost three of the last five. Reynaldo Lopez welcomes in the San Francisco Giants, who may offer up some strikeouts. Lopez does have a strikeout rate north of 25%, but the matchup isn’t as favorable to the numbers.
The issue isn’t so much Lopez and his metrics, rather the lack of lefties striking out in this Giants lineup. Unless he plans on fanning Michael Conforto four times, Lopez will have to work for some outs. That means pitching to more than hunting for strikeouts. The Twins send Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound looking for their third straight win. Minnesota just won its third series in a row and welcomes in the soon-to-be-selling Detroit Tigers. Woods Richardson has just an 18% strikeout rate against this Detroit Tigers roster among current players. He’s also meant to keep up with Tarik Skubal, who is simply dealing throughout another Tigers tailspin. Skubal should be in full control, while Woods Richardson can’t rely on overpowering many Detroit batters.
This is the second-best add according to the DraftKings Pick6 Optimizer. We fade a pitcher who hasn’t had the success against the batters he’s about to face. While the Tigers are struggling, they are a decent-enough matchup on the road to cause some trouble. Our third-favorite pick in the Pick6 optimizer starts with Herz getting some love, and rightfully so behind the numbers.
Herz has a strikeout rate north of 27% and has been fine against most of what’s been thrown at him. Herz hasn’t quite dominated this current lineup of batters, including a shelling at the start of June by this same Mets team.
