Portfolio EV. That’s totally normal — and totally solvable. Instead of leaving you to stumble through it on your own, we’re handing you a plug-and-play, profitable MLB betting portfolio you can start using right now. This is data-backed value from Day 1. Here’s how to build a profitable betting portfolio from Step 1.
How to Build a Profitable MLB Betting Portfolio on Portfolio EV
Stop guessing. Start making smarter, sharper Portfolio Betting page now!
Step 1: Open the Portfolio Lab
- Head to the Portfolio Lab.
- Click “New Portfolio.”
- Choose your state, sportsbooks you have access to and MLB as your sport.
- Leave every other setting as is:
- All sportsbooks
- All bet types
- All OS Ratings
- All start times
- All EV ages
- Flat Conservative bet sizing
Click “View Markets.”
Step 2: Set to Current Season
Under Filters, change to Current Season. Then hit the Quick Select dropdown and select “Above 0% hROI. This will filter out all markets with bets below 0% ROI this season. Here is the volume and hROI at this point in the process:
At this point, you already have a working +EV MLB portfolio — one you could save and use profitably right now. But we’re going to dial things in even more to push that ROI higher.
Step 3: Refine for Higher ROI
Click the Settings button at the top of the Portfolio Lab.
Adjust the sliders to:
- Minimum OS Rating: 1
- Minimum EV Age: 5 Minutes
What these settings do:
- OS Rating of 1+ filters out lower-quality bets.
- 5-minute EV age eliminates short-lived “ghost edges” that vanish quickly as odds shift.
Now click “View Markets” again, then again filter to current season and remove negative-hROI bets.
At this point, you’ll likely notice:
- A number of markets are now -EV, so your estimated bets per day have dropped 60% of what you had before — though it’s still a decent amount of volume.
- Your historical ROI (hROI) has about increased by a full percentage point.
Here’s where you can make some decisions. You could keep the parameters really broad and have massive volume and solid projected ROI, or you could be a bit choosier, have decent volume and better ROI. Personally, I recommend taking the OS Rating of 1 as the setting since 78 is still solid volume per day, especially when you factor in other profitable portfolios you will be betting during the MLB season — WNBA early and NFL late, for example.
Step 4: Save Your Portfolio
Click “Save Portfolio.” Name it something easy to like +EV MLB.
Now when you visit the Mass Entry tool.
Pro tip: The more sportsbooks you’re signed up for, the more value you unlock. But if you’re only on a few, no problem — you can filter your portfolio to just those books too.
