Jon Rahm M/L Than 4.5 Birdies or Better
This has not been the expected result of Jon Rahm moving to LIV — taking quite a bit to win on that tour and seeing some disappointing results in majors. Now he has a chance to eliminate a lot of that bad by showing up in (a place familiar to him from the Ryder Cup) and represent Spain as still one of the top talents in the field. Add a top-5 finish at the Cazoo Open that was also played here, and there’s a course familiarity with Rahm that could pick up right away. This is a monster of a course with tight fairways lined by trees and water. Beyond that, the rough has been extra thick — nearly unplayable during the Ryder Cup with Rahm.
This is a solid starting opportunity for someone who has elite-level talent but has gone through his own version of regression. Getting to the big stage was supposed to alleviate a lot of that for Rahm, which he started to see with a seventh at the Open Championship. Is Rahm back? Maybe, but more importantly we still get a decent number here because the question is unknown. We could see six birdies from Rahm in his opening round as he navigates the tight approach shots and demand around the green. This is our top play to start our Pick6 set.

There aren’t many golfers who are flying under the radar in this 60-man field. There are either recognizable names at the top, young guys with plenty of hype or guys you haven’t heard of or from in quite some time. If there was a small landing spot for someone not being talked about enough, it’s Sepp Straka. He is not new to the Olympics — look at his top-10 at Tokyo — and this event won’t provide anything new to Straka, yet he’s significantly down on the board as more of a longshot. , distance is basically irrelevant off the tee, so driving accuracy and ball striking are at a .
Straka has developed into one of the top ball strikers on tour and should carry over with less emphasis on smashing the ball off the tee. We also turn to his ability to gain strokes putting, specifically on bentgrass. He’s one of the best in the field with accuracy off the tee and gaining strokes both approaching and on the green. We’ve seen Straka already dominate courses that reward accuracy, as evident by some top-5 finishes this year. We like that to carry over at Le Golf National right away.
