Miami Dolphins Touchdown Scorer
Technically this is a “cold” weather game for the Dolphins where Tua Tagovailoa has struggled, but more importantly it’s the injuries around Miami’s QB that is most concerning. Tyreek Hill faces a tough matchup this week against Jets DB Sauce Gardner and Hill is already dealing with a hand injury that could limit his production.
The run game has dipped rather significantly since the early part of the year, and now enters with their top two backs banged up ahead of Friday. De’Von Achane’s return from injury was short lived as he is trending towards missing this game. That leaves Raheem Mostert – dealing with multiple injuries – and last week’s healthy scratch in Jeff Wilson. It’s not the best aresenal to counter an aggressive Jets defense, despite New York allowing yards on the ground.
For all the concerns surrounding Hill, the Jets will most likely start with just Gardner and possibly deep help on the star Fins wideout. It leaves a lesser 1 on 1 matchup for Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins should have their way on the ground but not to the point of forcing it. Wilson is an intriuging play at 6-1, especially with his ability to catch the ball, but the better value is on Waddle. Expect an increase in looks right away from Tua to Jaylen, ing for the first score of the day.

New York Jets First Touchdown Scorer
Nothing would be more Jets football than watching newly anointed QB Tim Boyle cross the goal line as the first scorer only to be shutout the rest of the night. While he’s not our pick for the Jets first scorer, it’s a scenario worth mentioning. This is kind of it for New York, win and there’s still hopes for the playoffs led by Aaron Rodgers. Lose? Boyle is the new face of the ’23 Jets until he’s hurt or simply quits.
This is a great game to bet the under primarily because of how the Jets defense matches up against Miami, but also the Jets inability to score – at least with Zach Wilson. Just two of the top 11 choices for First TD on FanDuel are Jets players – Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson. Both are viable options for an anemic offense, but finding the player who benefits the most from a QB change is ideal. Spoiler alert: It ain’t Wilson.
While the Dolphins defense will not be able to fully contain Wilson, they have a better chance of slowing him down than Hall. We’ve seen Hall explode in this offense with big plays even with Wilson at the helm. This team should have new life knowing they don’t have to rely on Wilson anymore, and the one player who benefits from an increased ing attack is Hall. Be it in the air or on the ground, this will be a massive game for Hall, so go ahead and slam that 6-1 play.
