Years ago, a trip overseas for any NFL team was seen as punishment. Now, the poor fans in are set for an awful matchup between two bad football teams: the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. While Bill Belichick’s job appears safe — at least through the weekend — this is an awful game with little spin around it. The good news is all we need is the first touchdown and the rest is a bonus. Indianapolis Colts First Touchdown Scorer
Getting Jonathan Taylor back was a huge boost for the Colts and their overall morale. Despite being relatively held in check last week by the Panthers, Taylor helped the Colts snap a three-game losing streak. Gardner Minshew II had been a turnover machine but was able to at least survive the Panthers’ defense.
The Patriots are down another player on defense after suspending cornerback J.C. Jackson for a team violation. While not a starter, Jackson’s departure from the team this week makes their secondary even thinner. Colts head coach Shane Steichen should be working the ball into the hands of wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. as often as possible, including the opening drive. This is the best way to hammer the Patriots into the ground.
Minshew to Pittman will be a connection heard most of the morning across TV sets in the US, and that starts with the first drive and first score for Indy. Expect Minshew to target Pittman almost to a fault while the Patriots’ soon-to-be ex-coach just sits there with his typical scowl.

New England Patriots First Touchdown Scorer
The New England Patriots have dropped five of their last six games, scoring 20 points just one time over that stretch in a win over the Buffalo Bills. There is a legitimate chance that quarterback Mac Jones and the New England offense will not score a touchdown. It’s hard to fault anyone reading this wanting to put their first-touchdown money on either Taylor or Zack Moss over anyone on New England. Jones has only thrown ten touchdowns in nine games, which is just brutal.
The scores have mostly been coming on the ground, be it Rhamondre Stevenson or Ezekiel Elliott — both running backs have six on the year. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne leads New England’s wide receivers in scoring but is hurt, so Jones’ best-remaining target to score is tight end Hunter Henry. He is truly the best option here as Jones will have few other options in the ing game outside of any running back. While the New England offense has been mostly gross on the field, there is tremendous long-shot value for a high-volume player like Henry, especially with him sitting at 17-1.
New England has a lot of issues this year, from coach to quarterback to defense, but the Patriots still have managed a touchdown here and there. Indianapolis will be a little softer about keying on Henry as the Patriots have two backs to worry about as receivers. Don’t expect much creativity here with New England, just a typical bowl of clam chowder as Henry gets the first score.
