Bill Belichick is no longer the head coach of the New England Patriots, something that hasn’t been a reality in over 20 years. Belichick and the Patriots officially parted ways on Thursday. New England heads to unknown territory, while Belichick has his pick of options. The following teams are looking for head coaches: Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers and now the Patriots.
Of course, with Belichick available, perhaps a team with a current head coach makes a surprising move and makes a change.

Falcons Open as Betting Favorite
According to odds posted at DraftKings, the Atlanta Falcons are the betting favorites at +150 to hire Belichick. It makes sense — the owner mostly stays out of the way, it’s a weak division and seemingly a quarterback away from being able to compete. Belichick likely isn’t interested in a rebuild as he sits 26 wins shy of Don Shula for most regular season wins as a head coach. Picking up wins in the NFC South might be easier than any other division.
The Chargers (+400) and Commanders (+500) are next on the oddsboard. The Chargers have the quarterback in Justin Herbert, while the Commanders have the ownership group with money looking for a big splash and fresh start. Washington has the No. 2 pick in the draft, which makes it an appealing destination.
The only other team with single-digit odds is the Tennessee Titans. Would Belichick want to replace his former player in Mike Vrabel? It’s also a team stuck looking at a rebuild with an uncertain future at quarterback.
The rest of the teams are considered long shots. The Panthers (+1600) are a mess without a first-round pick and questions around Bryce Young. Working for David Tepper doesn’t seem like something people with options are looking to do. The Giants have Brian Daboll, but he’s on the hot seat as well. Would New York move on from him to make a run at Belichick? Probably. Would Belichick want to go to the team that beat him in the Super Bowl twice? Probably not.
Another NFC South team makes the oddsboard in the New Orleans Saints (+3000). Dennis Allen might be the definition of average, so it wouldn’t be hard for the team to move on from him in favor of the future Hall-of-Famer.
