NASCAR Cup Series Bets: Coca-Cola 600 Odds, Picks & Predictions for Charlotte (2024)

Updated May 24, 2024 | 1:53 pm CDT by Isaiah Sirois

It’s almost Memorial Day weekend, which means it’s one of the best times of the season to be a motorsports fan. In addition to the Monaco GP and Indy 500, we’ve got NASCAR’s longest race of the year: the Coca-Cola 600. As the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Charlotte for the 2024 Coke 600, I recommend getting some action on a few drivers with odds that clock in too long. Let’s dive straight into the NASCAR Cup Series betting odds for Charlotte as we make our picks and predictions for the 2024 Coca-Cola 600.

Coca-Cola 600 Race Preview

As NASCAR’s only 600-mile race, the Coca-Cola 600 is an endurance test for both drivers and their equipment. It’s not easy to consistently run 180 mph laps from the late North Carolina afternoon until late in the evening, and the drivers who can pace themselves best often outlast drivers with more talent or better equipment.

While sometimes drivers can dominate the whole event, it’s difficult for anyone to maintain an early edge due to how different the track drives in the daytime versus at night. Last year’s Coca-Cola 600 saw Ryan Blaney score the win after leading 163 of 400 laps, but he wasn’t out front until after the first two stages of the event.

But while the Coca-Cola 600 is unique, Charlotte Motor Speedway is not. The 1.5-mile, high-speed intermediate has a relatively smooth surface that doesn’t produce a ton of tire wear, making it quite similar to Las Vegas, Kansas and Texas — three tracks we’ve already visited this season. Kyle Larson (+550) won twice. He failed to win at Texas despite leading the most laps as well.

So should we play Larson to win again this time? Well, the superstar driver will start Sunday off in Indianapolis in hopes of running the Indy 500, but the weather may not let them get the event done in time (or started at all). If Larson ends up running the Indy 500, fatigue could be a major issue for him by the end of the Coca-Cola 600. If he doesn’t, he probably should be the favorite.

Other drivers who ran well at the comparator tracks include Tyler Reddick (+850), who recorded top-two driver ratings at both Las Vegas and Texas, and Denny Hamlin (+500), the driver other than Larson to have led double-digit laps in all three events.

Coca-Cola 600 Bet: 23XI Racing Has a Good Night | NASCAR Cup Series

The only driver to have looked more dominant than Kyle Larson at a high-speed intermediate this season is Tyler Reddick. Reddick may not have won at Texas, but he recorded the best driver rating (129.5) and led two fewer laps than race-winner Chase Elliott.

Reddick is no stranger to success at Charlotte, either. Over his five Cup Series starts, Reddick has one top-5 and four top-10s. He led a career-best 28 laps in last year’s Coca-Cola 600 before finishing a solid fifth. In the Xfinity Series, Reddick recorded a win, two top-5s and three top-10s across four starts. His win saw him record a perfect driver rating, too.

With Reddick trading at +850 on BetMGM to win this race, there isn’t a ton of betting value to take advantage of here. He’s just +110 for a top-5 and -300 for a top-10. Still, I’m willing to get some exposure to him for this year’s event.

But Reddick isn’t the only driver in the 23XI Racing stable: his teammate, Bubba Wallace, clocks in at +3500 on DraftKings and offers some value as well. He finished fourth in the Coca-Cola 600 last year. He flashed speed at one high-speed intermediate this year, scoring a seventh-place finish at Texas after leading five laps. Let’s back Wallace to win or score a top-10 for +160 at FanDuel.

Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Betting Prediction: Bubba Wallace T10 +160 at FanDuel

Coca-Cola 600 Bet: Can Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Stay in the Headlines? | NASCAR Cup Series

Last weekend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. dominated the NASCAR Cup Series headlines — just not for the right reasons. Stenhouse and Kyle Busch got into a post-race altercation, and, well, if you haven’t seen it, you should. Stenhouse threatened to retaliate against Busch this weekend, but I suspect he’ll have cooled down before the green flag flies at one of his best events.

Stenhouse may not be having a good season, as he has recorded one top-5 and two top-10s in 15 starts, but he was on a similar trajectory at this point last season — at least on high-speed intermediates. He had finished 24th at Vegas and 12th at Kansas heading into last year’s Coca-Cola 600, but he managed an impressive seventh place showing in the event

This year, Stenhouse has similarly pedestrian numbers on high-speed intermediates. He finished 17th at Vegas, 23rd at Texas and 16th at Kansas. However, his solid resume at Charlotte and in the Coca-Cola 600 means he deserves much better top-10 odds than the insulting +500 at BetMGM.

Across 19 points-paying races at Charlotte, Stenhouse has two top-5s, five top-10s and 13 top-15s. In 13 Coca-Cola 600 starts, Stenhouse has two top-5s, five top-10s and 10 top-15s. Few drivers have benefited more from the endurance and patience required by the 600-mile event than him, and while he may not have the equipment needed to win, we don’t need him to come that close to winning to cash this ticket.

Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Betting Prediction: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Top 10 +500 at BetMGM
