Jordan Westburg H/L Than 1.5 Total Bases
The entire planet is awaiting the expected regression in this game, following the Oakland A’s 19-8 walloping of the Orioles. While Baltimore can salvage the season series with a win, it doesn’t mean every hitter on the team is going yard. Mitch Spence will go for Oakland, and like the team he represents, it hasn’t been a stellar year for either. Jordan is on the opposite end of that spectrum, clearly having a monster year, especially making good .
He’s currently working a modest five game hit streak, with only one of those games with multiple hits. Surviving may be a little extreme, but even in the past 15 games, Westburg isn’t smashing each at bat. While his stretch of hitting safely in 13 of those 15 is impressive, he has just three games with multiple hits. A single or a rare miss on each at bat is absolutely possible here, and worth the price we get thanks to OddsShopper.

The Diamondbacks are spent yet they keep finding ways to win. Their bullpen is taxed as no starting pitcher on this road trip seems interested in pitching deeper into games. All setting up a massive offensive explosion for the San Diego Padres. Right?
That’s certainly possible against Ryne Nelson but we still see significant value in fading one Padres player, specifically Manny Machado. He’s been hitting the ball in bunches but will leave some at bats out there for the taking.
Nelson isn’t the best candidate to shut down Machado but it doesn’t need to be that result in order to keep the latter off the basepath. Machado has a 21% K rate which is higher than any other every day player.
Once again we find edge thanks to the pick’em tool. The -122 implied odds are simply better than the -126 true odds giving us a 1.5% edge against the market.
