San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks | NRFI Bets Today

We kick off our NRFI bets today with a trip to the desert for the Giants-Diamondbacks game, which carries an 8.5 projected total. I’m not scared of the total approaching 9, especially when I know one of these offenses ranks near the bottom of the league in first-inning scoring.
Jordan Montgomery starts for the Diamondbacks, and he’s coming off a poverty start against the Mets last time out. He got worked for 8 earned runs on 9 hits in 4 innings — and of course sold the NRFI in that one.
However, Montgomery is 6-2 on NRFIs this season despite being blown up in his last start, so he’s shown a propensity for getting it done early.
San Fran is 26th in first-inning scoring, having scored a run in only 19.35% of its first innings this season. So, as I mentioned earlier, I’m not really scared of them jumping all over Montgomery off the hop.
The DBacks lefty will never wow you with incredible strikeout rates, but what he does do is get groundballs and limit hard-hit rate, which he has done well this season.
Jordan Hicks comes into the game for the Giants with a 9-3 NRFI record after just cashing a no run first inning against the Yankees in his last start.
That in itself is impressive given how explosive Aaron Judge & Co., have been lately.
Hicks did face the Diamondbacks earlier this season and allowed a single hit over 5 innings. And his career numbers against current DBacks hitters are pretty strong.
In 49 career ABs, Diamondbacks hitters are batting just .122 with only 6 hits and 14 strikeouts and a .232 OBP.
We’re looking at a -107 line here at BetRivers, which feels like pretty good value for a couple of pitchers I feel like we can trust to get us the three outs we need.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Angels | NRFI Bets Today
The last time we backed my #ManCrush Jose Soriano, it didn’t work out for us. But, like any abusive relationship, I’m gonna keep going back to him because, he promised me he’ll change and never do that again.
While I do like this pitching matchup, another reason why we can really like this NRFI bet today is that BetMGM has a 50% profit boost we can use to juice this baby up.
The line is -120, but if you apply the profit boost, we can take this NRFI bet all the way up to +125, which makes this WAY TASTIER.
So, back to Soriano quick. He is now 7-3 on NRFIs and prior to getting smacked around by Seattle last time out, he had cashed FIVE STRAIGHT no run first innings. Am I making excuses for him? Maybe. But, that’s what you do for someone you love …
Now, this is where it might get a bit dicey, but we’re going to have to trust Dylan Cease to close out this NRFI for us. And, that’s been SOMEWHAT TOUGH for him this season.
Cease is 7-5 on NRFIs in his 12 starts, which doesn’t really instill a TON of confidence in your boy, but, the Angels … well … they’re pretty tragic. They’re a Bottom 5 offense against right-handed pitching this season in of wRC+, and are creeping toward a 24% strikeout rate.
And if there’s ONE THING Cease does well, it’s actually get guys to swing and miss. So, this matchup — theoretically — plays to Cease’s strengths.
With the 50% boost, I can’t this one up. So, we’re going for a two-pack of NRFI bets here today, and hoping to cash this late-night ticket with the +125 value.
