Seattle Mariners vs Cincinnati Reds First Inning Bet
We’re rooting for fun this afternoon. And there’s nothing more fun than rooting for runs in a Reds home game.
The Mariners head into Cincinnati facing Tejay Antone. First of all, we’re never trusting someone who spells their first name “Tejay.” Second of all, he’s a 29-year-old who has four career starts — and this is his first since Sept. 12, 2020. Seattle is No. 7 in runs scored per first inning and score the fifth-most runs per first inning while on the road. Spoiler: They’re on the road.
Everyone is well aware of the potent Cincinnati Reds offense, and we shouldn’t be shying away today. Bryan Woo is going for the Mariners, and the Reds have some guys who can smash righties, headlined by Elly De La Cruz and Jake Fraley. In 13 starts, Woo has given up nine runs in the first inning and is 8-5 on NRFIs — so he’s no NRFI master by any means.
With a game total sitting at 10.5, this feels like a YRFI bet we can take with confidence.

Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians First Inning Bet
Lucas Giolito got absolutely obliterated in his last start when he allowed three homers and five earned runs to the Phillies. But that’s in the past. This is a much better spot for Giolito against the Twins, who strike out more than any other team in baseball (1,412 strikeouts). Yes, this is his first start for the Guardians, but this matchup feels far too good to up. He’s faced the Twins three times this season and is 3-0 in NRFI chances and notched 23 strikeouts in those 3 games. Giolito has been kryptonite for Minnesota hitters, holding them to a .195 average and 53 strikeouts in 174 at-bats.
Ol’ Pablo Lopez has been rock solid against the Guardians this season on NRFIs, going 2-0 in no run first inning chances this season. Overall, he’s 19-8 on NRFIs and actually blanked the Guardians in the first inning in his last start. With how strong Lopez has been in the first inning and Cleveland being a bottom-6 first-inning offense, it looks like a spot where he’ll get us the last three outs we need to cash this NRFI bet.

We’re loading up the Mariners-Reds YRFI and Twins-Guardians NRFI for our no run first inning parlay bet today. After shopping around, I found the best odds came in at +214 at Caesars Sportsbook.
The OddsShopper NRFI bet tool is right in line with us in expected win rating. The Mariners-Reds YRFI is coming in at 54% xWin and Twins-Guardians NRFI is sitting at 53%. Those are the two highest expected win rates on the slate for YRFI/NRFI bets.
