There are two new co-favorites to win the 2023 Australian Open women’s tournament after No. 1 seed Iga Swiatek was eliminated over the weekend. The latest 2023 Australian Open odds put the defending Wimbledon champion as a top choice, along with an American trying to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal.

Elena Rybakina, the No. 22 seed who defeated Swiatek in straight sets, is now favored in the 2023 Australian Open odds (+320 at DraftKings), along with Jessica Pegula (+320), who as No. 3 is the top remaining seed in the women’s draw.
“For sure, when you play against No. 1, I think you have really nothing to lose,” Rybakina told ESPN after defeating Swiatek 6-4, 6-4. “I knew that I had to be aggressive from the first ball because she’s a great mover, and she defends really well. So I was trying to just attack her from the first ball, and it really worked well.”
Rybakina was as high as +2700 in the opening 2023 Australian Open odds. She is a -205 favorite to win her quarterfinal match against Jelena Ostapenko.

Pegula reached the Australian Open quarterfinals for the third year in a row, defeating Barbora Krejcikova 7-5, 6-2. At PointsBet, Pegula is the +300 favorite over Rybakina (+350).
Pegula next plays Victoria Azarenka, a two-time Australian Open champion. Pegula is a -275 favorite against Azarenka, who is +210.
“I definitely want to reach a semi. It will be my first semi. I mean, I have a great shot here,” Pegula told ESPN. “I feel more confident, I feel more experience being in this position.”

Pegula, whose parents own the Buffalo Bills, also reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and U.S. Open last year.
“I’ve been playing the best I have than in any of my other Grand Slam quarterfinals. That, I think, helps,” she said.
Rybakina, a Russia-born player who represents Kazakhstan, defeated Ons Jabeur to win the Wimbledon championship last year. Jabeur, the No. 2 seed in Australia, was eliminated in the second round.
