Thanksgiving is in the books and now we turn our attention to rivalry week on the college football streets. Both Friday and Saturday are loaded with games, many of which determine postseason fortunes and potential National Championship hopes. One game that I have on the betting card couldn’t be further from that type of picture. Here we go to the MAC with Akron and Ohio squaring off. Before we dive into it — yes, I know Akron is arguably the worst team in the country and sit at just 2-9 on the season. However, this team lost games this year in OT, Double OT, and 4 OT’s. All of which could have made a bad season much better. Furthermore, they only have played four games at home as opposed to seven on the road, which is never an ideal situation.
Being at home here while Ohio actually hits the road for a change is a welcome sight for Akron backers. The first thing that has me interested in grabbing 14 points with Akron is the total in this spot. The latest Ohio-Akron odds sit at 41.5 and I think both teams will be more than content methodically moving the ball.
A slower pace with less possessions makes those 14 points incredibly valuable and if Akron limits the turnovers it helps even more.
Losing QB DJ Irons did them no favors and it’s going to be an uphill climb to put a ton of points on the board. However, Akron’s defense has held up well and I think they can have success in this spot vs Ohio’s offensive output. Its always scary to back a team like Akron as we know the downside is a 38-3 type beat down where we regret the decision.

Getting 14 points at home in a game where points could be at a is a spot I am interested in.
