Just peacocking like a MF with every step. That brings our overall record on the year to 25-18 on no run first inning bets, so despite an early cold streak of unearned runs ruining NRFIs, I feel good about the record so far.

NRFI & YRFI Bets Today: Best No & Yes Run First Inning Picks
Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants | YRFI & NRFI Bets Today
We were all over the Diamondbacks in yesterday’s YRFI/NRFI bet article and they cashed us out bigly. Let’s go right back to them for another first inning bet on Thursday and hope for another profitable result.
But, this time, we’re going to fade the offense in the process and go for the no run first inning bet. Yes, it’s a spoiler up front. I’m telling you right now we’re hitting the NRFI bet on this one.
I did a little lookiloo ahead last night and saw this matchup and liked what I saw.
Logan Webb is a strong starter, despite being just 2-2 on no run first innings this year. He’s faced a pretty tough schedule so far in the Dodgers, the Padres twice and the Rays.
Today, he has another tough test in the Diamondbacks, but we know he’s battle-tested already in the offenses he’s faced.
Also, we know the Dbacks are much tougher against left-handed pitching, which they have displayed time and time again so far this season.
So, can we attack this Arizona offense with a right-handed pitcher in Logan Webb?
I think we can. And I think we can feel comfortable in doing so.
And here’s why.
For as good as the Diamondbacks have been against lefties this season, they have struggled against righties.
On the season, they rank 25th in batting average against right-handed pitching, hitting just .215 in 386 at-bats.
Not only are they struggling to hit for average, but they’re just struggling to hit for much power in general when they do make .
Dbacks hitters have just a .360 slugging percentage on the year. Which, for reference, is worse than the Marlins and Rockies. So, not great, Bob.
So, with a guy like Webb, I think he can limit the damage, especially with his groundball tendencies.
Ryne Nelson will get the ball for the Diamondbacks in the bottom half, and we’re relying on him to get us the final three outs to seal up our no run first inning pick.
So far this season, Nelson has been a stud on NRFIs, going 3-0 on no run first inning opportunities. And those chances came against the likes of the Yankees, Braves and Cardinals. So, two of the better offenses in baseball, and one pretty big dud.
If we look at many of those same splits vs right-handed pitching, the Giants don’t rank too much further down than the Diamondbacks — .237 average, .372 slugging %. So, San Francisco is no juggernaut offense against righties.
Outside of Jung Hoo Lee, the top four in the Giants lineup all strike out upwards of 25% of the time, which should help Nelson be able to eke his way out of a jam with runners on to secure the no run first inning for us.
The projected run total is only 8 for this game in San Francisco, and Pinnacle Sportsbook has some juice starting to come in on the under at -121. So, we might see this dip to the 7.5 range, which we’d absolutely love to see.
We’re putting our 4-1 run on the line here, and rolling with the Diamondbacks-Giants no run first inning, and banking on Nelson and Webb to get us the NRFI for a 5-1 run heading into Friday’s slate of games.
