Strider is a walking strikeout machine, but he will be facing batters like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, who will make it more difficult for Strider to reach a high number of strikeouts. Even if Strider strikes out the more prone hitters like Brandon Belt, Danny Jansen and Matt Chapman twice each, he will only have six strikeouts. The fact that Strider is playing on the road in Toronto may also factor into him struggling to reach nine strikeouts.
Francisco Alvarez More Than 0.5 Total Bases
Alvarez will be facing MacKenzie Gore, a pitcher who has some strikeouts in him, but the matchup is not set up for Gore to dominate. Alvarez can stay alive at the plate and get some hittable pitches against him. He had a two-hit game in his last outing and is seeing the ball OK this month, suggesting that he is in good form and may be able to get at least one hit or extra-base hit in this game.
James Outman More Than 0.5 Total Bases
Outman has been performing well recently, hitting at least one base in each of his last four games. The pitching matchup against the San Diego Padres might not be easy with Blake Snell on the mound. Snell’s strikeout rate has slightly increased, though walks are the bigger concern here. While Outman may strike out once or even twice, he has a 55% chance of getting at least a single, and he has had hits in most games this month, making more than 0.5 total bases a good play.
Chris Okey More Than 0.5 Total Bases
Cleveland is hosting the game, and Logan Allen is struggling to pitch to , which could create openings for Okey. Although Okey is just coming up and doesn’t have much of a sample size, that freshness could work in his favor. With a decent matchup, Okey has a 54% chance of getting a hit in this one, according to PrizePicks Builder.
