Before we discuss how to understand the results of our how our sports betting tools work.
By “positive expected value (+EV) bets,” we mean only bets that we expect to give us a positive return on investment based on our back-tested simulations. You won’t find bets with negative expected value (-EV) in our results tool because we would not recommend wagering on them.
Now, let’s talk about how to use the results tool. When you first navigate to the page, you’ll see this:
The tool allows you to filter markets based on several variables. You can filter by sport, recency (last seven, last 30 and season-long), time of availability (2 minutes to game start, 1 hour, 2 hours, 12 hours, etc.), sportsbook and bet types.
The tool also allows you to filter bets based on a few variables. Every bet will render in the tool with some amount of EV, whether it be positive or negative, along with an expected win rate (xWin) and an OS Rating (proprietary estimate of value). You can filter only bets that meet a certain threshold for all of those criteria; for example, if you only wanted bets with an OS rating of 10-plus, you could see their outcomes.
For our purposes, we’ll look at the season-long results of all NBA rebound player props with an OS Rating of three or higher with at least two hours before tip-off:
You can view our results on a sportsbook-by-sportsbook basis, but the big picture is at the top with all books included. You’ll see that, at least through Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals (May 28, 2024), our NBA tools had a 6.4% on all rebound props with an OS Rating of 3 or higher.
Some books (Fliff, Hard Rock and PointsBet), but even though we ate some losers at those books, we were still net up by a healthy margin when filtering to these parameters.
