To begin building your portfolios, you first need to evaluate which portfolios within EV Results page. For our purposes here, we will examine all sports and fine tune our portfolio from there.
Select Bet365 As Your Sportsbook
Select bet365 as your sportsbook if you live in: Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania or Virginia. Generally speaking, we strongly recommend having as many sportsbooks as possible since more sportsbooks mean more options and greater diversity in your betting portfolio. That said, we know sportsbook loyalists exist, and it never hurts to see how each of the individual markets perform within a sportsbook.
Keep Your Parameters Broad
Initially, keep your settings as broad as possible. This means:
- Bet Categories/Types: Include all.
- Time Until Event Starts: Allow all timeframes.
- Odds Range: Include all odds.
- OS Rating: Start with 0 to include all bets.
- Expected EV and Win Range: Keep everything open.
Starting with a wide net ensures you don’t exclude potentially profitable markets prematurely.
Preview Results
After setting parameters, input your average bet size to preview the historical results for the current season. This preview will show metrics like:
- Number of Wins/Losses: See the total number of bets that would have won or lost.
- Average Expected Win Rate: The projected success rate for your bets.
- ROI: How much return you’d earn on your investment.
For example, with $10 bets on all recommended bet365 bets this season, you might see:
- Total Bets: 49,813
- Profit: $20,939
- ROI: 4.2%
While a 4.2% return across all bets may seem marginal, it’s actually pretty strong on its own when you factor in compounding returns and long-term betting strategy. Over time, this can really build your bankroll simply by robotically betting every bet365 wager that fits these Portfolio EV parameters.
Optimize Your Portfolio
That said, we can fine-tune your portfolio to improve ROI even more.
Filter by Markets
Review individual markets to identify underperformers. For example, say you only want to bet on the sports that return at least 5% on investment. Last year on bet365, those sports were NBA, NHL and WNBA. Select only those sports and review the portfolio again.
Across these three sports, Portfolio EV-recommended bets for bet365 last year actually had zero markets that returned negatively on investment. Just by selecting the more profitable sports, bet365 bets are now over 6% +EV. Of course, eliminating whole sports removes some profitable markets in less profitable sports, but as a though experiment, this helps to show how fine tuning your portfolio improves your overall returns.
Adjust OS Rating and EV Range
Experiment with OS rating and EV range filters to find the sweet spot. For bet365, moving the minimum OS rating to 2 bumps up our overall ROI to 8.5%, but it also turns some markets negative: WNBA assists and rebounds, and NBA points + rebounds + assists.
Also, now the total profit over the course of the season is only $8,782 at a $10 bet365 bankroll, whereas leaving the OS Rating of 0 as a filter returning over $17,600 in profit.
Again, this is about experimenting and finding a nice balance of sample size and ROI that works best.
Save and Manage Your Portfolio
