I am backing Kansas and willing to lay the points here, despite what has been a lackluster string of games from them. They have lost 4 of 6, but three of those losses were brutal road trips and they, like most teams, are a different beast at home. Jalen Wilson will be the best player on the floor averaging north of 20 PPG and off a flat showing in Ames I expect the best of this Jayhawks team.
On the other side Texas is coming off two hard fought wins, one at home and just a few days ago at Kansas St. The quick turnaround does them no favors and now they have to deal with another extremely hostile venue. The effective FG% on this team drops nearly 8 percentage points away from home and that’s the type of home road splits that always are concerning. Add in at times the defense has really been average at best and this is a big ask for Texas after the gauntlet they’ve already been thru. I will call for Kansas to look like the better team in this spot and cover the four points tonight.
