After stealing Game 2, the Cleveland Cavaliers dropped Game 3 at home. They’re now 8.5-point home underdogs to the Boston Celtics tonight. While I’m just as bullish on the Celtics as the market, we’re still fading guard Derrick White this evening. White’s 3-pointers prop is trading at 2.5, below his regular-season (2.7) and postseason (4) averages, but we’re fading him anyway.
White has stayed under the 2.5 in three of his playoff games, including just one game this series. Notably, he stayed under in two of three against the Cavaliers during the regular season. Notably, White converted only 38% of his road 3-pointers in the regular season, well below the 42% he converted at home.
The +130 at BetMGM is the best deal you’re going to get. The same wager is trading for odds of +125 or worse at every other public book. Pinnacle, a sharp book, lists this one for +109. Jump on this off-market price before it gets bid off the board.
Leg #2: Isaiah Joe u1.5 3PT
The Thunder are looking to dig out of a 1-2 home, but they’ll have to steal a road game to do so. Even though their backs are against the wall, as a loss means they’ll have to win three in a row, I’m fading Isaiah Joe tonight.
Joe averaged 1.9 3-pointers per game in the regular season on 18.5 minutes per game. In the postseason, he is averaging 1.6 3-pointers per game on 15.3 minutes. He has gone over twice this series as well.
As with the above bet for Derrick White, we’re beating the market on this one. Joe’s under 1.5 is trading for -110 at BetMGM and nowhere else. Pinnacle has this one at -139. I’m fading Joe with confidence tonight.
